Jessica began creative dance at age four at Miss Margene's Creative Classroom. She instantly connected with the art form and became the youngest "Clara" in The Nutcracker shortly after turning nine.

In high school Jessica become Taylorsville High School's Head Choreographer in which her pieces were selected for the State show for both Junior and Senior year. As a high school student, Jessica was selected to be a member of Ririe-Woodbury StepUp program. Jessica's piece "Uninvited" was performed at the Ririe-Woodbury performance, The Thinning Line.

While attending Weber State University Jessica received several dance department scholarships. As a a member of Moving Company, she worked with elementary students and attended the American College Dance Festivals at The University of Utah. She also performed at ACDFA in Bellingham, Washington. She went on to win Best Choreographer in 2007 for her work at WSU.

A highlight of her senior year at WSU was becoming the company manager for Erik Stern's Sternworks. Jessica assisted with performances of Demolition Derby; When A Mind Loses Its License To Drive in Salt Lake City and New York City.

During her student teaching Jessica worked with Kim King at Davis High School. She also taught in Ogden elementary schools as part of her creative dance training.

After graduating with her bachelor's degree in English and dance teaching and a teaching license in Secondary Education, Jessica went on to teach for the Virginia Tanner Creative Dance Program at The University of Utah and the Ogden satellite location. She taught ages ranging from preschool to 6th grade and choreographed several pieces for the Spring Performance held at Kingsbury Hall.

Jessica believes that creative dance brings art and innocence back to children's dance. As a teacher and mom of three she is passionate about the role creative dance can play in the world of children.

Creative Dance Works blossomed out of her desire to share literature and creative dance with her community. Over the years it has taken on many forms including teaching workshops at a charter school, teaching studio classes, hosting summer workshops, doing an Art Masterpiece series in a public school and even having dance be the activity for classroom or church parties. She will advocate for creative dance in any way possible.

Jessica has been teaching at The Dance Garden with Jasmine Crosby since 2020. Preschool through younger elementary dancers are nurtured in The Dance Garden. In 2023, Creative Dance Works opened Wildflower Creative Dance Co. as the next step for middle and high school dancers to continue their creative dance journey. In 2024, Creative Dance Works expanded by adding a studio class for elementary dancers grades 4-6.

In her own life creative dance worked because it taught her a language of self expression that is deeper and more true than any words. Teaching, choreographing, and performing bring her true joy and she loves sharing that happiness with others.
