Summer Dance Workshops
Keeping kids active in the Arizona heat can be a challenge, adding a dance workshop to the mix might be the perfect way to keep them moving!
Caterpillars and Chameleons Ages 4-5
Tuesday and Thursday June 13&15 1:00-2:30 $30
Inspired by the colorful world of Eric Carle, this workshop is designed to help little ones get out their wiggles through singing, reading, snacking and of course, dancing! Designed for both girls and boys, the beautiful lesson from The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Mixed-Up Chameleon is that we can both change and grow while remaining true to who we are; a perfect reminder for little ones preparing for kindergarten!
Poets and Popsicles Ages 6-8
Tuesday and Thursday June 20&22 1:00-2:30 $30
Reading, writing, and dancing poetry is a great way for kids to engage their minds and bodies!
We'll dive in to the world of poetry by discussing poems, writing some of our own, and expressing these ideas through creative movement! Poetry can enhance writing skills and creative expression through delicious, sugar-coated, sticky adjectives that melt, drip and dance divinely! Popsicles included! :)
Choreographers and Composition Ages 8-12
Tuesday and Thursday July 18&20 1:00-2:30 $30
Let's take a look back and find out how the pioneers of modern dance have influenced and shaped the dance world of today. Learning about these amazing dancers and choreographers shapes an appreciation for the art of dance. We'll also learn techniques for choreography; how to design and manipulate the elements of dance to create new and original movement. Along with an aerobic warm-up, technique, and center combinations, each student will have the chance to craft their own short piece and perform it for the class!
